What is ISO 9001:2008?iso_blog

In a nutshell, ISO 9001:2008 is a set of policies, processes and procedures designed to create a standard for companies especially focused on their ability to meet customer requirements. This set of policies and standards is referred to as a quality management system (QMS).

There are many documents in the ISO 9000 group of standards, but ISO 9001-2008 is the only ISO standard that requires certification. ISO 9001:2008 is the most recent standard and can be determined by the 2008 as it references the year of the latest revision.

A quality management system (QMS) bring together the different internal processes of a company in a way that organizes and standardizes the process of project execution. The QMS creates an efficient process to identify, measure, control and improve the different main business practices ultimately leading to improved business performance and higher customer satisfaction

A full ISO 9001 Quality Management System needs to address all the requirements of ISO 9001, and more importantly must meet the ISO 9001 Documentation Requirements.
